Adolescents must be encouraged, through both verbal and nonverbal cues, to adopt healthy lifestyle choices. These may include limiting junk food and calorie-laden beverages, exercising regularly, and not engaging in excessive leisure time. A teenager who is aware of her calories and does her share of exercise is much less likely to accumulate excess body fat and develop heart disease.

What Are The Causes Of Obesity In Children? There are many factors involved when it comes to childhood and adults being considered obese. Socialization, biological predisposition, and genetic predisposition play a role in developing a healthy body. Factors such as gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and genetic predisposition are risk factors for obesity.
